[edit] Weno Gypsies Tribe
The Weno Gypsies Traveling Bellydance Tribe is a Middle Eastern and Romani dance and music performance group that provides stage and street performances that blend storytelling; comedy; historical fiction; and veil, sword, skirt, and fire dancing with traditional Middle Eastern, Bellydance, and Romani folk dance and music. In addition to performances, the Weno Gypsies Tribe also create fantasy "Gypsy camps," sell costuming, do Henna tattoos, and read Runes. The Weno Gypsies group is the Renaissance Faire performance branch of Ashar Dance Company, Al-Khemia Music Ensemble, and El Genneyya Bellydancing Troupe and is based in Madison, WI. Weno Gypsies have been performing at the Bristol Renaissance Faire since 2007.

Drums, zills, and strangely fond of sheep...
Askeem, Al-Khemia's lead drummer and Weno Gypsies tabla player, is played by Bill Tricomi. Bill has been a Friend of Faire at Bristol for many years, and was very excited to join the cast in 2007 as a musician and actor at Bristol.

Muse, Temptress, Gypsy Queen, Moon Fairy
Ayperi, former Artistic Director and founder of El Genneyya, member of Ashar Dance Company, and head of Weno Gypsies, is played by Monica Muraski. Monica has been Bellydancing since 2001 and teaches classes at Dance Fabulous LLC in Madison, WI.

Ringleader, Truthsayer, Bellyroller
Misha, former member of El Genneyya and solo artist, actor, and dancer, is played by Mike Dartt. Mike has been Bellydancing since 2005, and he has also been acting, modeling, and singing since he was in grade school.

Oud, Flute, Amplification, Lover of Chickens
Nazario Chickpeazio, member of Baraka Mundi and Al-Khemia Music Ensemble, is played by Thomas Moore or Dazuluzad. For information on Thomnas's music, check out Dazuluzad's myspace page.

Mezzzmerizing, Sword balancing, Snake charmer
Seana, founding member of Blue Lotus Tribe and founding member of Ashar Dance Company, is actually Seana Dishun. Seana is currently working to complete her undergraduate degree in dance from UW Madison and she teaches classes all over Madison and beyond.

Sassy, Sensual, Senegalese Princess
Rivka, founding member of El Genneyya Bellydancing Troupe and member of UW Bellydancing Club, is played by Rachel Cizek Faye. Rachel has been Bellydancing since 2003, and is an excellent costumer. She also recently celebrated her marriage to her real African prince - Thierno Faye in 2008.
